Breathe in…Breathe out…

When the breath wanders the mind also is unsteady.  But when the breath is calmed the mind too will be still, and the yogi achieves long life.  Therefore, one should learn to control the breath.

“Breathing is so simple, anyone can do it” Right?
Last week, I got to reflect a lot after reading

Breathing is something I definitely
need to improve on…
Why do I feel so tight, trying to do it right?
It seems, I do not know how to breathe in a mindful manner,
which might be the source of some
of my meditation challenges

Tell me, is it easy for you to breathe mindfully?

Note: This sunrise caught my breath away and I thought it fitting
to be the photograph accompanying today’s post

  1. Elaine, I have to say Thank you…I'm glad I'm not the only one ;-)Tracy, I have Yoga on my heart's wishes list , I do feel it will bring some of the answers I am looking for. Happy Day/Night to you too.m! I find I am holding my breath quite often and that my breathing is quite shallow, sometimes :-(. Thank you so much for the book referral. With everyone's help I should be able to get better Thank you everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oooh, and like Tracy pointed out, during my yoga practice my breathing feels good. Though "moving with the breath" is something I'm still working on too…rather than huffing and puffing and then holding!

  3. This is something I am working on too sometimes. There are moments when it's very easy to breath–like during my yoga practice. Each day is a new chance to take when I learn on the yoga mat and into my everyday life. Each is different, each with challenges and with gifts to. Like your sunrise, Anyes! Happy Day ((HUGS))

Talk to me, I am listening :-)
