What’s in a relationship?

” A successful marriage requires falling in love many times,
always with the same person.”

Mignon McLaughlin
Young couple walking hand in hand

After all those years together, it is so easy to forget
what made you chose each other to begin with.
Without even you noticing, life inserted
a thin wedge between you two and slowly
you are growing apart…

…Tugging at your heart, is this stubborn hope you have
that things could be different if only
the thread tying you together,
could stop unraveling under
everyday’s responsibilities…

…So one evening not really knowing why
you both decide to make time for each other,
and to take an nightly stroll around your neighbourhood
 walking together, just holding hands
before you know it…

You fall in love again πŸ˜‰

  1. Eliza! If more couples understood how beneficial it is for them to spent uninterrupted time together just being, or just walking I am confident the world would be a better place. I know it's doing our couple a world of good πŸ™‚

  2. i love this πŸ™‚ and was just thinking earlier, how much i love the man i'm with. i found him in later life, had to wait a while…but he was so worth waiting for. i remember a line from a song, i think by marc cohn, and it's a bit sad…it's about "the things we lost along the way"; i guess singing about him and his love. enjoy your nightly walks πŸ™‚

  3. Karen, This photograph was taken in Bordeaux France, about 1 1/2 year ago, mid-July, while I was visiting my family. I loved the cobbled stones and how their feet were so in sync…YES, it will get warm soon enough we just have to wait…until forever πŸ˜‰

  4. Reminds me of an European street. Are there streets like that in Vancouver? Secondly, do you think it will ever get warm enough again to wear clothes like that?
