Wondrous Nature Walk

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more.
George Gordon, Lord Byron, Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage

Always looking for inspiration I jumped at the chance, when the whole family
ganged up on me, suggesting we drive to Ambleside park.
I was ready for a bit of fresh air, having been under the weather
lately, even if the dark skies
looked menacing, it was a chance worth taking…

Camera in hand I was truly enjoying the scenery,
This beached log seemed so beautiful, the dark skies
making it look even lonelier, stranded there, just waiting
for some Summer bodies to lean against it.

The immensity of the ocean always draws me in
specially when combined with the waves’ soft lullaby
one of the sounds closest to my heart.
What a view, I could stare at it for ever…

Much to my delight the children were having
fun, playing soccer with their dad and
then racing with each other, my heart
delighting in seeing their friendship
growing more and more everyday

Morale of the story: When given the opportunity to spend some unexpected
family time, walking together by the beach
jump at the chance no matter how sick you are, think you are, feel.
It will do wonders for your soul πŸ™‚
