Inspiration

“Let yourself be open and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.”
Buddha (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)

Inspiration, it can come from anywhere…

While driving past my favourite park and looking at the sun trying to get through the trees branches, it suddenly hit me. Listening to my inner whisper I got out of the car, camera in hand and what I saw invited me in. Those rays of sun light playing within the tree branches, were simply too sweet to pass. How lucky can one get, did I ask myself right after uploading this photograph on my computer?

Thinking about it some more, I have decided that it has very little to do with luck but rather with being open. Open minded, open hearted just letting go of any expectations I might have had of finding it (the afore mentionned inspiration). You see, while being very quiet at times I happen to hear a tiny voice (I call my inner whisper) guiding me ever so gently to do something. Now let me be honest here, most times I don’t even know the reason for those actions (I am still very new at this). Oftentimes it’s only after looking at the results that I do understand I was inspired (in-spirit-ed).

Inspiration for me is often visual at first, which makes me want to grab my camera. Once the photograph I see in my mind’s eye is taken then comes a quiet sense of peace enveloping my heart. A feeling that what I was meant to do has been accomplished. For the past year or so inspiration has shown itself more and more often. Everytime it appears I get to see how following my instinct no matter how strange it sometimes seems, is helping me become more of the person I am meant to be.

Now if I could just get past my fears, my doubts and put my writing on paper, then inspiration might even come and visit me on the blank page.

  2. Beautifully expressed, Anyes! Listening to one's inner voice, that inner truth can take us on a wonderful journey every single day if we are open to it. OPEN… you said it best, by being open to everything. When we stop to really notice things, more is presented to us. I believe we are meant to stop and notice, notice as much as we can. Life it too short & precious not to! :o) Happy Weekend & Happy Autumn ((HUGS))

  5. Sigh… its so wonderful to "hear" your voice. Its taken me a long time to realize, but the key is to be afraid, but do it anyway 🙂 So what if your knees shake, and your hands tremble and you sweat, do it anyway. Just stay open, you are exactly where you are supposed to be! Thanks for peek at the beauty in your world.

  6. I'm learning that when we try (and sometimes so hard) to look for something we completely miss it. Yet, once we stop to look for it we realize that what we are looking for is right in a front of us, right here, right there, right everywhere actually … lovely post Anyes! Love.
