Autumn skies

There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!
Percy Bysshe Shelley

I am glad Autumn is back bringing with itself cloudy skies filled with impossible colours and grandiose relief. The photograph I took in my backyard early yesterday morning shows you exactly the beauty of our Autumn skies. As you can see Mount Baker is but a shadow of itself right above the roofs of my neighbours.
After taking this photograph while looking around for something else to show you, turning back heading towards my house here is what I saw…
warning… I should let you know that a spider is coming next…

There she was right above my head and I almost destroyed her web. Stepping a few feet back I slowly took the time to focus on her. She truly was a beauty, Queen of her Domain patiently waiting for a lost fly or some sweet mosquito to be trapped in her beautiful web. I am learning to accept accepting spiders the way they are just as long as they stay out of my house, we co-habit peacefully. I had to admire her beautiful colours, she looked like a tiger on the prowl, don’t you think?

Right after finishing to admire Miss Spider I turned around to go back in. This stunning reflection of the first Autumn sky caught my eye, right there on my kitchen window. I had to take it for I knew it would not be long before those beautiful clouds would vanish. I would lie to you if I did not say I could stare at those clouds for hours getting lost in their beautiful dimension…That’s why I’m a dreamer šŸ˜‰

…Happy Autumn everyone…

  3. The sky and reflections are lovely and that spider is a beauty. Like you I can only tolerate spiders outside my house. I do have rather a phobia with those big house spiders.I have got one just like yours outside my sitting room window and I have been meaning to photograph him for the past few days.

  5. Happy Autumn dear Anyes! The spider is wonderful, funny you call it 'her' (coming from French I guess?) my reflex would be to call it 'him' (coming from he from my mother language) – just a reflexion it made me smile :-). I hear you on the skies, I'm with you I could stare at a beautiful sky till I would be no more … love!
