Labour Day Long Week-End :-)

There aren’t enough days in the weekend.
Rod Schmidt

The first week-end in September always marks for me the beginning of the school year. Children getting a bit antsy, both curious and anxious about the new school year.
Many projects on the horizon which I will tell you more about later, but for now it’s all about getting ready trying to get back to a school year schedule.

For a whole month, my work days have started at 6:30 in the morning ending at 3:00 in the afternoon. This is giving me a nice part of the afternoon for the home caring stuff (that what I named my chores) and will also allow me to be a bit more involved in Sweet Son school projects, much to his dismay ;-).

Even if the weather is still warm here, there is a cooling of the air that tells me Autumn is on its way. I can not help it if there is a big smile on my face for my favourite season is almost there. Another reason for me to smile is knowing my camera has finally been repaired and should be coming home soon.

Tell me friend, what does Labour Day Week-End represents for you?

  1. I feel the same way about the Labour Day weekend. It signifies the "end" of summer and the "start" of new experiences…school goes back, schedules resume. That's part of my malaise right now — both my boys are back at school (they're 24 & 20) and live away from home for that. They resume a schedule but I do not, not like I used to. So now each September I create a new schedule for myself and find the rudders that keep me afloat. It's change and it takes time to adjust. So I go with the flow. And yes — the air feels different in September. It may still be hot and sunny but it feels so much different than summer sun. Here is to a happy school year!

  2. Labor Day weekend is the wrap up of summer for us. We spend time organizing the house and preparing for the kids to go back to school. Its hot during the day, but the temps dip lower each night and I too can tell fall is in the air. So glad to hear you camera has been repaired! Hugs sweet friend!

  3. First I have to say that I prepared for 37 years for the kids to come to school. The first week as hectic for both kids and teachers. Labor Day? Since I was heavily involved with teachers' associations I have to think about the beneficial things that were installed like maternity leave etc.
