Living the questions

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves
like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue.
Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them.
And the point is, to live everything.  Live the questions now.
Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer.
Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Foggy morning

At first it seemed just another foggy morning, I captured it all the while thinking about this New Year about to start.

  • How could I make this coming year different from the one about to leave?

First morning sun

A few minutes later passing by the same window there it was greeting me, the sun I had been missing the last few days.

  • Will posting everyday be the challenge  that will guide me towards the answers I am seeking?

Morning Sun

  • What will I be focusing on this year  knowing that what I focus on expands?

In all its glory like a good omen the sun made me smile for I knew it would all be OK. Here I am living my questions and sharing them with you.

Tell me dear friend, any questions you are ready to be living?

  2. I adore the images in this post as the glory of the day gently reveals itself. I don’t know what my question for the year will be. I suspect I will have many, and am open to them as they come.

  5. I’m a fan of Rainer Maria Rilke…always moves me. I love how you used the photographs taken at a different time, under different conditions…excellent way to show how nothing is the same always and those subtle changes can make such a different to what we think and how we feel. And yes, sunshine makes SUCH a difference, always. As for me and questions…some I am constantly pursuing it seems, like “why am I here?” “what is my purpose?” and sometimes the answers seem simple, other times I have to weed through and decipher what is coming to me in order to find the answer. Some questions simply remain unanswered and elusive. Great post!

  8. Such a lovely shining light you are, accompanied by the sun shining gloriously through the grey, into your window! Living our questions… I love that. Lately the question I’ve been living with is, What Brings Me Joy? I want to live with this question as I enter the new year, determined to do more of the things that bring my heart the greatest joy. Thank you for another thought provoking and insightful post!

  10. Living the questions. That’s a way of being wise, isn’t it? Sitting okay with them. Moving through the answers. I love the quote, “some years ask questions and some have the answers.” Zora Neale Hurston, I think. Love your images.
