The illusive peace of mind What I would give to have a better grasp of any meditation techniques This non-stop churning of the hamster in my head, is wearing me down

  1. I thought I invented mind chatter and was the only one being driven crazy by it! I have a lot of stress going on in life right now and had to truly find a way not to panic or have a crazy anxiety attack. I read a verse in “Jesus Calling” that flipped to the exact page I needed on day; it said ‘I am in control & always with you. I am your center. When you begin to fear (hear chatter) bring yourself back to Me to find your calm. Talk it over w/Me & give it to Me. DON’T BORROW WORRY FROM TOMORROW.’

I know it sounds easier than done, but for me, it truly works. My center. My calm. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Weirdly enough, the best mediation for me is running, because I start counting my steps in sets of eight and everything else gets really quiet.
    It’s maddening — I can’t stand running, haha.
On a more serious note — I can totally relate to wanting the noise chatter to hush. I don’t have much experience to meditation that isn’t for trying to sleep, so I’m afraid I can’t really help… But I hope you’re able to find that peace of mind you so deserve.
Just breathe. You got this. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Meditation has always been like the carrot in front of my nose…the one thing I know would make me feel better if only i could grasp it…
I have the feeling there are many ways to meditate and given what’s happening right now I might not be in the best frame of mind to start learning more about it …
I’ll try to be patient, Thank you E for sharing how you go about it ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Yes, Aynes look into EFT! Mind chatter is that part of us that helped us “survive” through out our life. When we take responsibility for ourselves, step into the hurt/pain willingly and tell the mind (our wounded self) thanks for all you’ve done in the past, I’ve got us, I won’t let go. It stops, not all together but at least quieter.
Self-abandonment (innerbonding term) is so common, we all do it. I totally did, until I could see that those thoughts don’t serve me, they are not in my highest good. All they do is make me spin, feel terrible, whirl around but never help me move and improve my mood or purpose (I am not saying I don’t fall back into this pattern, I totally do! But, it doesn’t last very long because the moment that I realize where I am, I move out of my head and into my heart. It feels so much better!!). You don’t shame them, disregard them, you embrace yourself in the face of them, remind yourself you are safe, you won’t let go, you are here. They are a clue that you are in crisis, stand strong and they will stop their torment. Look yourself in the mirror, cry in front of your own eyes, stand in front of your own face, heart, and see into your eyes that beautiful soul that shares and gives so much. When you see her, when you hold on to her, you can do and feel anything.

  4. It is easy to relate…apparently mind chatter is more common than we know. The only way I know to release it is exercising myself to direct it positively by visualising my favorite places or “tapping” it out with EFT, positive reinforcement by Louise Hay is another…
It all helps the mind to relax without too much effort.
