Had anyone told me two years ago, 2020 would be this frustrating: I would never have believed them. Looking back, I am grateful to have purchased this book in December 2019 as a gift to myself. I have to confess it stayed un-opened for most of this year. Its hefty body in my hands, reassuring me. I would flip through it casually, thinking it would be smart one day to go through it and pay attention to what it said.
NaNoPablono2020 happened I found myself looking for inspiration in every nooks and crannies of my house. This time I needed to pay attention. Low and behold, this book gave me all I needed and more. So here is what I got reminded of ( knew it already but had forgotten it)
- At the end of every day take 5 minutes to write on a little piece of paper a beautiful moment you want to remember. Place the date on top, then fold it neatly and place it in a jar, container or a neatly decorated box. Your choice! You can also do it weekly, if daily is too much. Before you know, you either have 365 or 52 little pieces of paper reminding you how beautiful your life is. Neat, right?
- Do one thing at a time. It will allow you to be fully present and in the moment. Time will feel a little less like water slipping away through your fingers. This one is still a challenge for me. I am the kind of person that needs to do multiple things in one go. I am working on it, I am.
- Look around you. No, I don’t mean to be cheeky, open your eyes and see everything. Notice little things; the rose that against all odds is there on the rose bush its petals almost gone looking so tired, the stubborn leaves still attached to the branch refusing to let themselves go in the cold November wind.

Tell me friends, what are your favourite ways to be mindful? Any suggestions? Asking for a friend 😉

Breath always centers me. Just stopping for a moment, taking a couple slow breaths calms me and gets me to stop reacting and return to observing❤️

This is a great one, I have trouble breathing properly, to begin with, and I oftentimes react right away. Great reminder Dinah ❤

Me three! Liz (my sister, writes at Cats and Chocolate) gave it to me as a present…and I’m guilty too of not picking it up properly yet, thank you for reminding me…looking forward to diving in with intention. Love these lovely reminders too. Think the one I do the most is looking around, especially in nature, which is beautiful in it’s autumnal goodness at the moment.

I am a beauty addict and have discovered that if I keep my eyes, heart and mind open it is ALWAYS there. For which I am endlessly grateful.
